Check your feed storage area. Water got into the bottom of my scratch and I lost several birds last month to botulism/mold. I freaked and was thinking it could have been so many diseases, but the symptoms were bad feed. I was stirring up the scratch and hit a tough part and saw the mold. I felt so very bad. I tried everything to save them. Was force feeding my brahma rooster for several days with no improvement. Bawled my head off when I had to put that friendly boy down. When the girls were showing signs, I didn't let them get to far before we put them down. The first pullet to die had textbook botulism poisoning.
I'm pretty ticked off right now; I just went outside and realized I had left the lid of the Scratch/BOSS/Oats mixture off all night long and it was all wet. Mostly the top layer, but there's no way to separate what is wet/damp from the dry on the bottom. It's probably $50 worth of goods that I'm going to have to toss. I don't know how to dry it out otherwiseAnd I don't want to give them too much BOSS because of the risk of crop impaction, so it's going to be wasted. If I had time I'd dry it all out pan by pan in the oven, but I don't have time for that.
