Hugs.
Thank you. I do and I do. (there's those words again).

Zgoatlady.... why do you think a heating pad isn't a good idea?  (it would be under the plastic bin, not inside) I've been testing it today to check temps.  It may not keep the air temp high enough, but the floor temp is about right.  Right now I have a cover over that part of the tub/bin to see if it changes the air temp any.

I hadn't thought about spray painting a light bulb... what type of paint do you use?  Does the heat cause it to flake off?   Do you do anything special to make it stick well?

And, what is an electric hen?  :idunno

Thanks!

I think it could start a fire and yes the air should be warm. I don't know I think about that and I have a bad feeling in my gut.
Oh for the light bulbs, I cut a milk carton and sprayed the bulb in it. Oh I didn't do anything done I am to them. I think the spray was customizing sorry don't know how to spell it. It didn't flake or smell nothing. I still have them, I went to goodwill and got lights but make. sure you know that wattage for it. I have clip on one's and stand up one's.

Home from the Vet. Arnold had a ginormous tumor on his kidney. Dr Bruce suggested a bunch of things that could cause it. I asked about testing for Marek's and he did not think it was necessary and isn/'t rushing over to put down my whole flock. (He does do that sometimes). He had also lost a lot of weight which I didn't notice until yesterday.

He suggested that I get future stock from a different breeder preferably one that vaccinates. Arnold was vaccinated for Marek's. And keep doing what I am doing. I just checked the rest of the gang and their weight seems healthy.

I feel a little better knowing that he was probably predisposed and it wasn't bad food or water or something stuck in his crop.

Thanks for all your support. I had a good cry this morning and feel a little better.
Always sad to lose something we care for, be it family pets, or our family chickens. Glad to hear it wasn't something that would impact the entire flock.

Good luck.

Well, well. My piano is now gone.
I gave it to a 14 yo girl who is just starting to learn. Her mom plays also. So I figured the piano found a good home.
Then I just learned her dad is a scout leader here in Rochester.

I know some of you don't believe and that's ok. But, Birdie May gave that piano to me and I've tried to sell it and never, ever got an inquiry about it and I posted it twice here on the forum and nada.
Birdie May would be happy with the results and I see a guiding hand here.

that;'s awesome!

You can't hardly give pianos away up here in King County- you can get a free one almost every day on CL, sometimes 2 or 3. People have gone to electronic music so much that piano's are not appreciated. We had to dismantle one that no one wanted a few years ago, it was really sad!

Glad your got it a great home!
