Howdy folks! Well I am really having a hard time trying to keep up right now. So have been skipping several pages at times.

Today I took 4 BCM cockerels to the sale and ended up bringing home a nice Blue Lace Brahma pullet I will try to post a pic tomorrow. She is a Greenfire bird. Look em up. the price of those babies scared the applesauce outta me! !

Finally getting my Black Copper Marans and Blue Marans all squared away.....have five laying hens and two roosters (Black copper) and two laying Blue hens....plus 5 hens that are four months old and about 5 hens that are a month old (Black Copper)....I hope to be offering eggs for sale in a couple of weeks. I am pretty excited now and love the egg color!

Hey guys does anyone know anything about joining 4H? My daughter wants to show pygmy goats. Shes 9. I am not sure we are going to be able to get one yet or not BUT I wanted to look into it. I wanted to know about the cost involved and if the animals show have to be registered or what rules or whatnot are involved...

Hi! My daughter (age 7) is just getting started in 4-H too! I don't know a lot about it yet, but we just called the county extension & they sent us a huge info packet & the paperwork to get started. We are going to the next orientation (in two weeks) and hope to learn much more then! They have so many neat programs, we are very excited!

Sweetlilbaby, my thoughts are with you as you face saying goodbye to Demon. Dogs are my people & I know how devastating it is to lose the special ones.

put me on your list for eggs. If none of the Welsummers or Barnevelders hatch from the eggs I bought from the last breeder, I might be your next customer! My son needs "pretty " eggs for his customers, and we don't have any dark egg layers. ( we just hatched 2 EE, 1 Wyandotte and now 2 silver leghorns today, but so far none of the dark eggs has even pipped- but hey- maybe there will be a surprize in the morning?)

Oh yeah you all wanted me to keep ya updated on demon. He has been having daily mild heart attacks. The term mild means what when having a heart attack though? he's obviously in pain. Me and my husband had a long conversation and have decided wednesday if he hasn't passed on already we're having him put to sleep.
Right now he's got labored breathing neck stretched out. I cannot afford another ER vet visit. I honestly hope he goes naturally tonight in his sleep. I hate seeing him suffer.

I'm so sorry about your Demon dog, that's so sad!
Are you able to give him some some aspirin to releive his pain?

I hope he just falls asleep and goes peacefully, for everyone's sake.

Sorry I have been away for almost a week. My GOODNESS,!!! That thing is unbelievable! When you see one that big, it is not hard to see they are from the dinosaur age. I am sooooooo happy I live up in the hills of Washington state.

Welcome to all the new peeps!

I have a small "surprise" hatch.... I put 27 eggs in on the 10th of Feb, pulled 20 due to being not fertile, The 7 I left in the bator I could not see in due to being thick and darker brown. Well today 4 hatched and another is pipped so I have 4-5 chicks that are Olive eggers.

Anyone interested? I don't have room atm and would like to sell them as soon as possible.
Papa is a Blue Ameraucana and mama is either of my brown egg layers. Jersey Giant x Black sexlink mix or her daughter by My last rooster a Buff Orpington.
They lay nice dark brown eggs and are good layers. Mixed with the Blue the girls should produce a nice Olive/green colored egg.

Hope everyone is doing well and ready for spring!

ps 5th just hatched! now 6 and 7 I dunno but I think I hear peeps from one of them..... We will see in the morning! (when I wake up morning)

OK velvet fog, you are right it was a hoax. I went back and rechecked. If you look at the link and then click on the 1st comment about snopes and read it quickly (as I did) snopes says the gator with the deer in its mouth and swimming with it is true. Further reading/investigation shows nothing about this gator being as large as stated or appears.
Historic note: in 1890 the largest alligator was caught in Marsh Island, La (record still stands) it measured 19' 2"
