Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

lol oh my Rainmom I think my hubby would go nuts.. He is worst at chicken math then I am... As it is we are only suppose to have 6 chickens and we have 14!!!... We have 3 EE's, 5 RIR's, 2 BLRW, 1 BO, and 3 Red Fryers that my husband never butchered.... UGH maybe if I can get him to butcher the meat birds. Then we can get a few more layers?

When we were looking for a bigger dog a few years ago, I tried contacting a rescue, can't remember which one it is now. They told me they wouldn't give me a dog because my chickens aren't neutered. Morons.

We got Athena from the Nickel in my Mom's home town. The parents were 4 and 5 with no health issues, but weren't registered with anyone. I'm pretty happy with Athena. Zeus came from the Humane Society of Eastern Oregon. They have a hard time getting dogs adopted out with the area. So he was a life we saved. He was 4 months old when we got him and was food aggressive and fearful. He's got a few quirks that he freaks out about (dog houses), but he's very obedient now and there isn't a mean bone in him. No more food aggression and not fearful. I wish we'd have picked up one of his siblings as well.

well I'm really hopeful that my brothers friend lets me have one of their puppies. their purebred German shepherd had pups. I don't know if the puppies are pure. But a pup that hasn't been abused, or anything like that is great. AND they feed Prey model raw Like i do so no adjusting from kibble to raw for the pup. That will also make it easier for me.
I checked the shelters and none of them really have any available puppies. The ones i saw on petfinder i called the shelters and all the large breed pups were spoken for but they had not removed them from the internet yet :(
The rescue really has me ticked off. But i'll be okay. Also these pups my brothers friend has aren't ready for going to new homes yet so that gives me time to bleach the crates (the small and giant one) get some blankets ready. When i find out if it's a male or female find some collars, leashes and so on for it. If it's a girl it's color will be purple. I love purple.
I have all the male dog supplies.... red, black, blue and green collars (for the different holidays).
Yeah I'm not good enough to get a puppy from a rescue. I guess wasting all my extra money on my dogs isn't good enough for them.
i don't have kids, what else i have to spend my money on but my dogs, chickens and ducks.

Gonna post a pic from my phone soon of the new fence...and we got 9 eggs from 11 layers today!

Today the girls weren't thrilled with the new fence and stood there staring at us in the back door. We pretended to do voice-overs.
DH: Where will we crap now that we don't have access to the back patio?!

He's MUCH happier that we have our yard reclaimed from the monster mess makers and the kids will have plenty of poop free yard to spend their summer.

I've never met a service dog that looked unhappy. They sound like idiots.

If a service dog wasn't happy it would be retired. Because if the dog wasn't happy it would refuse to do it's job. They are idiots i had a nice phone call with them that made me so mad that i hung up on them. I've heard smarter arguments from my nephew before, he's 2 years old and his argument is "no". LOL My husband is very upset about it as well because i showed him pictures of the pup from that rescue, it would have been perfect. I feel horrible for convincing him we needed that puppy now.
Ohwell, when I bring home a different pup in a few weeks he'll forget about that one.

Aww I hope you get your puppy... Any pup would be lucky to have you for a mommy !

I'm guessing this is for me. :) I hope i get it too, it wont be for a few weeks but when/if i get it i'll flood this group with pix as long as nobody minds it. I'm going to try to get a photo of it before i get it. That way i can show my hubby what we're getting cause he wants to name it.

Too funny.

My hubby will probably do the same when our girls finally come home. He already talks for my goof cat (Luna) when he holds her and she starts leaning towards me he starts saying "momma, momma, he's so mean to me" as he's scritching her under the chin.

Still have work to do on my pen. Need to get the chicken fabric for the trampoline/tractor, and chicken wire to pest proof the pen.
