Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Oh for goodness sakes people just bring something yummy and tell us what it is. Simple. Dont' worry about those who have food allergies. We'll choose wisely from dishes made by those like us. That is all.

So am I. ***** seems to be a strange word to block on a animal board.

Oh... funny story.... when I was in NYC I went to the hotel's Business Center to use their computer to print something. While there I decided to check in here on the Washington thread of BYC. IT BLOCKED THIS SITE because it found the term "sex link". Seriously, I kid you not. I couldn't browse this thread! Oh you nasty chicken people!

I want a splash or paint silkie bator...BUT my daughter wants to hatch some. She is 9 and wants to do it as a report for school... Maybe I can get some silkie eggs for her to hatch for me.) Now that my husband agreed that we can butcher the last 3 Red Fryers that he decided to let live last fall. LOL

Here's an open invitation to all:
Dawng and I are planning to go see Sadie Sue's play "Reservoir Dolls" on Sunday, April 21.
We're buying tickets for the 2:30 show.
After the show, we are meeting up with Sadie Sue to share a meal. (Not sure which restaurant yet.)
Dawng and I are just north of Seattle in Kirkland and Kenmore.
We went once before and it was fabulous! Well worth the drive.
Who wants to join us?
PM me and we'll figure out the details.
Come one, come all!

where is the play? can we carpool?

Rochester, and we have several Clumbers... who we show, train, and hunt. So they are all birddogs... The older ones mostly leave the chickens alone, the younger ones plot fairly constantly how to get into Fowlcatraz. We also have pigeons, Chukar, and a couple pheasants specifically for training our dogs so it's difficult for them and we understand that. We started keeping pigeons when we lived in deadcenter Olympia and had a couple pups and an adult that we needed a consistent supply of birds for. When we moved to our awesome home here (less than a half-mile from Scatter Creek where we do our training and where the majority of AKC Spaniel Hunt Tests are held in this area) we also got some Chukar since those are typically a difficult transition for our dogs from pigeons. The thought balloons above their heads in the field very clearly say, "Ummm... you want THIS? Are you sure??" I prefer seeing that transition during training, not during a judged hunt test with a $65 entry fee already cashed, LOL.

They are all very, very good dogs and we do not expect perfection from them, and we recognize the conflict we have created. We do our best and make sure never to blame a dog for being a dog... especially a dog we have bred and trained to be a birddog for being a birddog.. Discovering that I am not allergic to eggs from OUR chickens and quail, though, have made this a permanent plan - We will always have our Clumbers, and now we will always keep chickens. When the weather cooperates we're improving the fencing around the poultry area, need to sink 3 or 4 new posts and try to find a couple chainlink panels and we'll be good to go making Fowlcatraz nearly Clumber-proof. Mostly, so far, when the security has been breached, the dogs head for the pigeons and gamebirds. We'll get it all settled out soon.

Her name must be....... HiHoSilver?

Welcome Clumber- where are you located?

Q: Does your Clumber leave your birds alone?
