Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

While I do understand the food issues I feel it better that those who make "safe" foods label and all other is buyer beware. See I would not want to label my food as say "contains no nuts" When I don't know for sure that some of it may not have been in contact with equip used for processing nutz.

x2.
Our family has 3 members who have food allergies to one thing or another, but we don't expect anyone to cater to us. We've been doing this a long, long time, so we always just plan to bring food we can eat and share with others. We know that there's probably not a lot we can NOT eat at potlucks and we deal with it, because we know are the minority. No worries! That's why I offered to bring my "famous" Kale salad- my family loves it and if there's nothing else to eat, we'll just have lots of salad!

There's a big difference in choosing to eat differently (like Paleo) and occassionally allowing yourself an indulgence in "bad" food, and having a severe allergic reaction.

( p.s. Since I have a couple hundred friends and families I know who have food allergies, we've gotten pretty good at putting menus together to share at events, so if anyone really is strict gluten free, dairy free, or other, please PM mee so I know to look out for you)

Everyone who can eat anything- lucky dogs!

Oh for goodness sakes people just bring something yummy and tell us what it is. Simple. Dont' worry about those who have food allergies. We'll choose wisely from dishes made by those like us. That is all.
No way -- too risky.

I could not live with the guilt that I made something that made people sick.

Quote: Yes that is the one I have - and it is bishing (b i t c h i n g) !!!

I should have used the term "circulated" instead of "forced" - you want one with a fan :)

I think it's easy enough to add water. I move the lid a little and pour it in.

I will say -- I am not nearly as strict about humidity and temperture as folks I read about. A hen, leaves her eggs almost every day, for 10 to 30 minutes. During that time, eggs cool off and their humidity changes, but eggs still hatch. Nobody tells the hen on day 18 that it is time for "lock down" and she is no longer allowed to move off the eggs.

I get a 90% hatch rate from my eggs.

I have the next two days off and if the rain ever stops, Ill be doing some spring cleaning starting with the chicken coop :) I have 2 hens that are wanting babies now, Blondie and one of my black hens. Here in a bit, I may let them each have a batch :)

Quote: My son has deadly food allergies. I understand. Believe me.
And From another perspective. While I am lucky and have no known food issues. I try to pass on the "special " foods. See I have no issue eating such items and like to try them. BUT because normally there is a limited amount I will pass in my own attempt to help there be plenty for those who do NEED these special foods because there is usually plenty of other food for us lucky people. Just my opinion !!
