Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

California Buckeye? Wow, the Buckeye is the State Tree of Ohio where Birdie May was from.

I really, really want some now. I have only one tree on my property, a red maple that Birdie and I planted 16 years ago at a formier home we had and when we sold it, the people didn't want that stragley looking thing. (After we move in to our current place, I went back to the other house and dug it up, brought it to our new place and managed to get it planted b4 Birdie had a chance to look out side. It was quite a suprise for her.
It's now about 20' tall and shades my front windows in the summer. It was her pride and joy.
When mowing the grass, I always take my break under that tree, a special place for me.
We'll have to try extra hard to get a few.
It is difficult as when he drives down there he is so busy visiting family that he forgets !
I will have to tape a paper to the dash board to remind him !

Well, I been killing time waiting for Home Depot to deliver the 2 windows and 2 shower stalls we ordered almost 2 weeks ago.........and the truck arrived, and it had the 2 windows, but the turkeys left the 2 shower stalls sitting back in Aberdeen !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So now he is driving all the way back there , and get the shower stalls and drive all the way back ($200-250. in gas ?) and we have to sit here & waite and cannot go shopping as we had planned.................

You can use different things. Feed stores should have something helpful, even if it's not labeled for chickens. I like off-label stuff because it seems to work better. Denagard is an amazing antibiotic; it works for gram negative and gram positive bacteria and you don't need to withdraw eggs. It also doesn't develop a resistance!

I just got an e-mail from Wilco with their spring sale flyer. Dang! They have chick starter on sale. For just $3 more I can get 5 times as much as I got last week at Del's. Too bad I don't have some coupons for Purina. Didn't think I'd ever use them. Just goes to show you should never turn down (or throw away) a coupon!

Today I'm setting up the dog kennel for my 4 chicks. They're 15 days old now and really rambunctious! Every time I open the lid to clean, somebody makes a leap for freedom! So cute! But the bigger space will be good and they'll even have a perch. My mom is getting her daily dose of belly laughs, laughing at me and chicks!
