We have around a dozen windows that we need gone. They are in good condition. Some of them open, others are large panes for sliding doors and such.

We have smaller opening windows, and larger ones. We don't have any dimensions, just come on by and pick out what you want. You can even take all of them.

If we aren't home - the windows are accessible from 35th ave in the backyard, right behind the empty pond.

See address below. If this ad is still up, there are still windows available.

You may be right about Buckbeak, the neck feathers (hackles) look a bit long and more rooster-ish. But I'm a total newbie at this so take my opinion with a grain of salt!

Love your little helper!
I thought so too, but am also new to this. Have had chickens before, but was onlyinterested in eggs. This time I am really getting into it and am excited about it. Thanks on the helper. He is really just bossy when it comes to the bigger animals, but is great at feeding my chicks and can do it completely alone as long as he is supervised so that he does not take the dogs with him.

LFM --

That EE of yours looks to me like a pullet. BUT -- the picture is a little blury. If you'd like a more defenititive opinion, can we get a few more pictures? A good profile of the body, a top view, one that shows the leg size in relation to the body, and maybe a crisp view of the face to judge the comb.

Seems female to me tho.

Dave
I will try to take some more pics today, but with my camera. I was hoping pullet, but it is just so different from the other one. I will be going back out there in a little bit and will get some more pics. Thank you!!

I saw that too!! I saved the pic as a model for possible new coop when I become overrun with chickens. I can see that coming not too far down the road. I love the windows in the top of it.

Anyone have any tips on what to do if the power goes out when incubating eggs? I am only on day 4 and I dont wanna loose them but its really bad here crossing fingers it doesnt go out!

By any chance do you have a gas fireplace that will run during a power out? If your water heater is gas it will continue to operate as will your stove thus giving you a way to do hot water bottles (even with zip loc bags). Disposable hand warmers and towels. Our trailer has it's own furnace, stove, and power. Know anyone with a generator? I hope your power stays on!

Plug into the generator ?? If no Gen try to wrap (but not totally the incubator in towels / blankets. Also I know people have used those hand warmers to help .
NEVER give up too early. See last winter I talked a member through the big outage. 36 hours after losing power she hatched chicks in her uhm lets just say sweat shirt.

It sounds like you did everything right. I don't know what happened. Maybe you should sterilize your incubator before the next hatch. Maybe you had a power surge or outage you're not aware of.

It sucks. My sympathies. We all know we shouldn't count our eggs before they hatch, but we do anyway.

I'm home almost all the time so I don't think there would be a power outage i didn't know about. I plan to mix a water/bleach mixture and spray down everything in the incubator then let it air dry. There has to be something wrong. I have only got one chick to hatch that has been in this incubator and that chick died right after hatching.
With all the money I spent on eggs for hatching I could have simply bought chicks.
I am glad i did buy some chicks though. I think i'm going to bleach the incubator then just get eggs from my mom to try a few at a time til i start getting good hatches.
