YES! And, if anyone is interested - in Tacoma, is The Birthing Inn. They are WONDERFUL! You might as well be at home. I abhor hospitals!!! I have checked myself and baby out early EVERY time. There was no reason for me to stay 48 hours other than to charge my insurance!

I wish! My baby came very quickly then got stuck in the birth canal. The doc tried and tried, I pushed and pushed and pushed and pushed. I was seeing triple, no kidding. I came within moments of having a c-section. Finally, still using the forceps she managed to get her out. She was terribly jaundiced and I was in terrible condition. I was SO glad to have been where someone could take care of both of us... even though I don't usually like hospitals.

I'm not sure that my older son would be here without modern medicine. There was no reason to expect problems in advance.

Same here. My daughter and I both would likely be dead.

Thats where i had my son! I loved it there! planning on going there when we add a new family member if i make it anywsy lol my birth was 7hours start to finish. My midwife told me i may ad well stay home next time lol my first

Doctors never have the right to do anything to you without your consent. Are you kidding? With all the lawsuits these days, you practically have to sign away the right to your firstborn before they will touch you. I do agree that the c-section rate is too high here in the US, but you can lay the blame for that at the feet of us litigious Americans. Many OBs are no longer practicing because they can't afford the malpractice insurance. Doctors are so afraid of being sued if something goes wrong with the birth, that they jump to surgery too quickly. I think putting a cap on the dollar amount people can be awarded in a malpractice lawsuit would go a long way towards solving the problem.

It's the responsibility of each person to do their research about options and possibilities. In today's info overload society, if you don't know about options, it's because you haven't bothered to look.

I get tired of doctors, hospitals, vaccines, etc being criticized. Personally, I'd rather live in a world where these things are available than the alternative. If someone doesn't want to use them, that's their business. But don't assume that the only reason someone would want to give birth in a hospital with their doctor and an epidural is because they don't know any better.

While we disagree on semantics, VERY, VERY WELL SAID! I think we probably agree on more than we disagree

She's so sweet! And bored! I've never seen such a bored 2 day old chick. The other 3 are sleeping like crazy and she's standing in the middle of them all, peeping as loud as she can. Bored I tell ya. She's gonna be a trouble maker!
