Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I just want to thank you guys for making me feel like I'm not completely alone on a Friday night! Who needs a "social" life when there's BYC, ammiright?

I have kids. This is a normal night. Let alone Friday. What's the weekend again? Oh that's right, its the same as all the other days: up early with sweet kidlets who love to wake energetically! I'd not be alive without coffee.

Off to Wilco to get my meat chicks(free with my feed purchase) and then out to get my Silkie chicks. Then a busy day working on coop stuff, bathing the older Silkies, friend coming over for dinner and chicken edumacation(getting chickens next week). So I will attempt to catch up tonight. Later peeps

Have to thank robj for his heroic work in framing the "airlock" for the Hamburg Extension and picking up the broken glass from the storm door, especially. I'm going to hang wire on the far end of the run tomorrow so I can block the dogs out and clean up the interior, and by next Thursday I hope to figure out whether I'm going to have a framed coop or just an improved plastic and wire shelter.

He also nudged me to remember to haul the loppers out of the house and trim out two hanging canes from the Brenda Colvin rose. And since I had company, I finally got the chicken bedding composter set up (for certain values of "set up") and the stinky feed-heavy mess from Ian's run cleaned up. The guy who's getting the chickens forgot that he was going out to dinner for his birthday today, so I'm locking Ian up tonight so he won't be such a case tomorrow.

Also, an eight-egg day

You're welcome! It turned out to a nice day to be outside hanging out with a new friend and visiting with all your cool critters.

Hmmm...I only wish I could justify more chickens, but unfortunately I'm totally at capacity. Sigh. Graham Hay Market has SUCH a nice assortment of varieties.

My Saturday will consist of getting my 5 year old a new Easter dress. Her girly-girl side will be delighted, but her dig in the mud to find worms for the chickens side will be disappointed that I won't let her wear her new dress outside.

Well, I'm off to clean the coop. I better take the freeze dried mealworms with me!

I LOVE Graham Hay Market!! I got a great assortment from them last Friday. I will be going back in a couple of weeks to get another batch. Now I understand what you all meant by Chicken Math.
