What a wonderful day.
Mine started by taking my son's last items out of my storage to his apartment.
I then went home and took Fluffy and Niqui outside for an introduction to grass. I have a pen I setup, moved them downstairs in their crate, and then moved them into the pen. They didn't try to fly out as they were going "what the f*#& is this stuff under our feet" and just stood there amazed. Then a few minutes later I saw Niqui starting to peck at the long grass. They stayed close to the side of the pen where I was, so I know they have bonded.
At my storage I found my packing newsprint without printing and brought that home for use in their crate. I decided, since I was tearing the paper outside, to add some grass and dandelion greens in with the paper for them to scratch for once they were back in the bathroom. I will see tonight if they found it. I also took some chick feed and added water. Fluffy kept eating it after eating the pinch of scratch I dropped on top of it. Niqui hadn't figured out it was food when I had to leave for work.
The hubby is so funny. He asked me after the 2nd night of them being in the bathroom, how long they would be in the house. I told him "until the pen is finished" and he said "guess we better get working on it then." What a doh moment. So, the plan is to get some work done on it tomorrow. I think I will bring the chicks out and setup the portable pen near their new pen while I work on digging the 6" down for wirie at the bottom. Should be a great day for all of us.
