Has anyone turned an old trailer into a coop?  Considering converting one any tips or pictures?

I'd hurt somebody to be able to make a coop out of an old trailer!

There was a person who was posting pretty regularly on the yakima craigslist looking to purchase an old trailer for 200 bucks.  He wanted to turn it into a chicken coop.  Maybe look there? or post there and see if he responds?

Also - I'd google.  I'll betcha someone has done this before - In fact now that I think about it I've see something similar here on BYC.

If I was looking for a trailer, to turn into a coop - I'd drive around and see if I could spot on that looked abandoned.  Maybe the owner would let me take it off their hands for free/cheap.  Wife says no to a trailer - at least on this current property.

You know what's funny? I have an old trailer here that doesn't belong to me, a 24ft one, only when last investigated there were raccoons living in it.

My friend recently had a tenant move out and leave an RV behind, would that work? It doesn't run.

So, for assorted reasons having to do with not wanting to leave Deary in the laundry room while we were gone, and naked currying of favor with the toddlers and preschoolers in my family, I brought her over to my sister's house today- here my cousin Joey's grandson, Joey (my late Uncle Joe's great-grandson  ) meets his first chicken.

We spent the day up on Whidbey Island today, trying to get a glimpse of some of the gray whales or transient Orcas, buit no luck. It was a nice day to be at the beach though! We caught this heron feeding at one of the marshes- and had a perfect mirror image- but then the tiniest breeze kicked up just as I was trying to snap it on my iphone.

We got home so late, after having to wait for 2 ferries- (finally getting on the 3rd one!)- that we weren't able to check on Mrs Broody and her futur(?)e hatchlings. Fingers crossed that she's got some fluffballs under her when I check tomorrow.

I need to get the pen she's in moved out of my garden, but didn't want to disturb the eggs the last few days and risk them getting messed up. So, waiting and waiting for her eggs to hatch. Oh- and peeked yesterday morning- silly brat snatched some non-fertile eggs up after I thought I had her blocked from swiping more eggs- so she's sitting on at least 4 non-fertile eggs. Geez, there's at least 15 eggs, maybe more- under her. What a goofy hen.

DH tilled the garden spot- and the soil looks terrific. I'm so thankful the former residents worked the garden, it's full of rich, dark soil and has a lot of rocks already culled. I checked my seed supply and found that I made a mistake, and do't have any pole beans. So, gotta rush around to find some non-GMO- we need to put in a LOT of beans this year!

Tomorrow- can't go anyplace until the truck is unloaded- it;'s still full of wood we bought from a local fella - heck of a deal and he's offered we can take his heavy-duty 4" tall square pavers too- and some pressure treated beans (3x 10's, 20 foot). Those would make really nice raised beds for strawberries or other perennials!

WOW Does oregon have one of these threads too ? Hope ya seahawkers do not mine a duck in your Yark . HI all
Yes we have one, but moves way SLOW, just like a Beaver out of water(haha). That's why I hang here.
Quote: Yup, we're slow.
Could it be... an Easter gift from Latte (our fudgelet)? There was a tiny peach egg in the nest box. I don't know for sure that it came from Latte, but as small as it is, it makes me wonder.

Seems like the right timing to be her first. Yay. Amber(GSL hatched around Sept 15) has been laying since late Jan, but she should have since she is a sex link. Peep(EE hatched same) has been laying for 2 weeks now. I would say that Latte is a layin
