It dont take up much space and nothing beats FREE... I beat you could make something cool out of the wheelbarrow.... I know I know I am an enabler....

Let's see. Wheelbarrow: Chicken tractor for your silkies, flower planter, pond for your ducks, portable BBQ or small bond fire holder, there must be more for a wheel barrow. TV stand, Tomato cage with the wire, portable coffee table, kids ride.... Oh come on CR

Howdy,

T- Hi- wow, glad you have someone staying with you now! how scarey to be there alone after a major surgery!

ChickieLady- we used to back our truck up and use it for extra height to stand our ladder on- living dangerously

Gorgeous day today! A friend came by with her boys so my son had buddies. She brouht me a kombucha scoby so I can make my own. It's soaking in a batch of green tea - can't wait till it's ready.....in about a week (wah!)

Some of my mutt eggs that were sitting under the broody hen hatched today. The chicks came from eggs that were green/blue, and our russian friend who gave them to me has EE's and RIR's and mixes of them, plus others. I've got 5 little fluff balls as of this evening, which is not a good hatch rate, considering there were 11 of the green eggs, but there might be more chicks hatching tomorrow, who knows?

Here's pics:

wow is she grouchy!

I had to wait till DH could reach in and pick her up to count chicks- he's taller and has long gloves to fend off pecks!

Love, love, LOVE!! Watson's. I am planning a trip there soon. :love
Boy, we have the same guilty pleasures...Graham Feed Market AND Watson's!! Hangouts for girls who never got over making mud pies! --Nikki

Yippeeee!! I love your excitement :D Nothing big happening here just another day, 'nother dollar :thumbsup The chickens are in their "adjustment period" to their coop outside, they caught on to the chicken ladder pretty quick and after someone forgot to put them back into the coop this evening *uh-hum - wasn't me  ) I found them snuggled in the coop waiting for me to shut the door. So happy I have some smarty-pants chickens! OH! Itsren & TurtlePowerTrav - Princess Leiah has feathered out something BEAUTIFUL! She has blue tail feathers that sort of lace into red around her breast and shoulders and a blue head, do anything but tell me she's a he LOL!
Pictures and I can help tell at this age

Murphys law struck me yesterday. I posted my silkie chicks on Craig's list then I went to check on the chicks and one is acting funny like he doesn't feel well. This morning found one dead and another dying. So I down the ad.

I put the dead chick in a bag in the garbage and my dog brought it back to the chick room.

So sad. Wonder what happened??? This happened to me once when I gave my ducklings lettuce & spinach. They died. Then I found out that they can't have lettuce or spinach. It destroys their kidneys and they dehydrate.
Good dog...

OT........food
Me and Sis went to the Olive Garden yesterday and I had one of the specials. Roasted chicken with fettucini and a creamy garlic sauce that had yellow and orange bell peppers and spinach in the sauce.
Do any of you have a good recipe for a creamy garlic sauce?

(it was very, very good)

That is a good (ish) dog. My dumb dog would have probably eaten it.

Sorry that you lost your babies.

I lost one of my 3 week old Anconas this morning. She had been all puffed up for the last day and a half, but I had a Delaware do that a couple weeks ago and pulled through it, so I figured this one would too. I went to let the big chicks out and she was gone. This was my first time finding a pet already gone and having to deal with it by myself. I sobbed the whole time, but got it taken care of. Hopefully I build a little thicker skin as this goes along?
