So everyone except the silkies are going on a diet. The rocks are laying 8 eggs a week between 4 birds. I picked up Omelet to feel her bone spacing. That girl is FAT! I had a hard time finding them. She's always been very food driven and a little pig.

I'm getting 3-4 eggs a day from the 4 brahmas. They range more and eat more greens.

The rocks have been in a separate pen and I finally let them out to free range today. They took the opportunity to skedaddle back in the big coop.

Well at least that means the pen is empty if I can manage to make it to the show.

I was thinking I should take a walk while the sun was shining, and suddenly it began to hail.....hard....

Lol. I came home from work and told my family..it's so nice! I'm either going for a run alone at the golf course or we are all going for a walk together to the golf course! They all went with me. Meh. It started hailing on the way home....

G'night peeps. Had a lovely (slightly tough but fabulous flavour) guinea fowl for dinner with Marsala sauce and asparagus and a wild rice mixture. Making soup outa the rest of him tomorrow. Course, gotta make some sewing. Hey just watched the Borgias. Gonna make me some costumes.

Sadie, was it you, doing the acting stuff. I can really do costumes now! Oh, wait, still can't travel much. Never mind.

Ok everyone.

When one person says something about his/her faith, a belief in a god, he/she is automatically denying someone else's faith if it's different from yours (unless you believe in ALL gods). So, in the interest of peace in the community, how about we ALL agree NOT to discuss god or lack thereof. It might be better to pm someone if you know they need uplifting, and you know they are religious, and you want to offer religious support. This way it won't offend others from a different faith, or no faith.

Worth a thought.

I have though about it.

I do not agree that saying I have faith is denying anyone else's faith. I do not agree that dave's post was merely saying what he believed, but rather attacking someone else's beliefs. I do not agree that there was not an intent to belittle someone's faith by calling their god powerless, evil, or imaginary. I am saddened that no one on here seems to care. and I will not ever agree to hide my faith.

if that makes me unfitt for this site I am ok with that.

I have a question to those who might know. Is this Comfrey with the purple flowers behind the nettles? I never knew what it was. We didn't have it at any of my relatives in Hermiston. Mom says that they used to have comfrey growing on the ditch bank when she was a kid, but it's been to long and Mom can't get her email to work right now.




There are huge amounts growing along the property line. The picture is from last year, I was trying and failing to get a pic of a bumblebee. The plants are only up about 6 inches or so thus far this year.

How interesting. I just finished up the leftover from a peahen in wild rice dressing. Mmm, Mmm, good! I've had guineas the same way too. Delicious!

HMMM. Gone a few days and you are talking about things like religion and politics. No No things to talk about on boards without someone getting their nose bent. So let us change the subject. Let's talk about sex!!!!!

I read an article that said a hen can expel any unwanted semen from any rooster she doesn't like so she can choose who fertilizes the egg even if several roo's have been with her.
