It was SO nice to see Honeysuckle Hills, Terror Bird, Slinglings and DawnG yesterday.  I really, truly appreciate that they made a longgg trek from the north all the way south to Olympia to see Reservoir Dogs which I will say again is definitely a show not for everyone as was proven when two women walked out yesterday. As they left a few of us were waiting in the wings to go on for a scene and one of the women said, "You ladies are great - we just can't stand the show"!  Which as odd as it may sound, wasn't an insult to us.  It just validated to us that we were doing a very good job portraying very real, bad people onstage.  These women were just overcome.  Someone did not do a good enough job warning them in advance.


I thanked my chicken lady friends for being brave and kind enough to stay through the entire play and then my 75 year old mother and sister (who both LOVED the show) joined all of us for a nice bite to eat at McMenamin's Spar restaurant in downtown Olympia.  What a lovely visit we had!  My mother called me a short while ago just to tell me again how much she enjoyed the play and the company of my poultry pals,  saying what nice women they were.  What was the remark that waiter made that we all laughed at?  It was something related to poultry or fowl and someone in the group said, "You have no idea who you're talking to", so we had to explain we'd all met through our love of backyard poultry!


DawnG was nice enough to bring my soap order to Olympia for me because I foolishly gave ALL of my order away to friends and found I was left with NONE.


So thank you again ladies for attending yesterday and having dinner with my mom, sister and I.  It's always so much fun to visit with other WA BYCer's and good to see all of you again!

i would love to see this, how long will it play? Have been very busy and behind on the forum due to a new job and getting ready for my wedding in May.

This coming weekend is our last.  We have a show on Friday, April 26th @ 7:30, Saturday @ 10:00 PM, and last show on Sunday, April 28th @ 2:30 PM.  That's for the women's cast.
Here is a link with more information.  Dates, times, schedule, ticket buying info.  There's a good chance we'll sell out this weekend so I would recommend buying tickets in advance.
Again I will say this is not a show for everyone.  Quentin Tarantino, as a writer or director, does not have a fear of harsh language or violence. But if you know what you're getting into before hand, I'd love to see you there!

I wish I could go, but lately my free time is taken up by cleaning up after Ruby: this morning it was a number 2 emergency before breakfast.


The reference to "McMenamin's Spar" in Lutefisk's post makes me sad; we've stopped going to the Spar now that it's been McMenimensized, even though we've happily eaten at the ones on Oregon City and West Linn since they opened. They've taken our favorite items off the menu and the local color is totally gone. Better The Olympia Oyster House or King Solomon's Reef.

We painted the exterior of the LOWER part of the barn yesterday, most of it anyways.

My son (11 at the time) wasn't feeling well and I jokingly asked him if he wanted me to rock him on my lap. He sweetly and sincerely asked "Would I fit?". Of course, he'll always fit!

Ran into FWJ at Reber ranch yesterday. I'm pretty sure they have a sleeping bag and cot for her there someplace

SadieSue- I'm going to make it to one of your shows one day- really! I haven't been to a play in years. I think I just need to ditch the men and go.

(I swear, the men in my house could sit on computers all day long without human contact and be happy.)

I'm jealous of those jubilee orpingtons. I keep thinking I need a couple spangled chickens around here- maybe a crazy looking spangled-fangled polish.

MikeyB - I think you need to have decaf with your dinner - are you really posting at 2 am? LOL

I need to get 4 or 5 of those 16 foot hog panels. They are such a pain to haul due to 16 ft length. I can bend them into a hoop and put in my trailer, but DH has the trailer full of junk. Grrr..... want to make a hoop tractor - saw a really easy to make cute one recently. 2nd project with hog wire panels- a hoop "greenhouse". 3rd project- a garden trellis for beans, peas, etc. I saw a really cool one someone ingenuously made- and my idea-meter went on full tilt. Imagine suspending the hog wire panel between 2x4's at the ends, with "feet' to ensure it doesn't blow over? If ya can't imagine, then I will post pics once I get one made.

Porcelain d'Uccles (4 hens, 1 cock)
Chocolate Bantam Orpingtons (trio)
White Japanese Bantams (duo)
Mottled Black and Blue d'Uccles (5 pullets waiting for a quality Mottled or Black cock)
Bantam Phoenix cock named Brewster - he's the best boy with the ladies!
Black LF Cochin cock - who gets to oversee whomever Brewster doesn't
Citron Spangled Hamburg - lost his 2 ladies in the winter cold and wet, but eggs are in the bator hopefully developing!
Big assortment of random cocks who are off to freezer camp, maybe today
Cornish-X chicks - you know where they are headed eventually!
In the bators are Swedish Flowers, Nankins, Orpington ducks, Ameraucanas (sp?) and a few others I can't remember, plus my own eggs
Pilgrim geese
variety of ducks, I love the Muscovy best for their personalities and looks
Narragansett turkeys (2 hens and 1 tom) plus a lone Bourbon Red whom I keep cuz she's pretty and a great layer!
Rabbits! Rabbits everywhere! Zomygosh, anyone want meat rabbits?

I do actually have meat rabbits for sale or trade, with the oldest babies just about ready to go - maybe another week for fryers?
Turkey eggs for sale or trade! Too many to eat/incubate! Help!

A brand new baby puppy "Hank" as in "Hank the Cowdog". Love that series! Anyone with kids or a goofy sense of humor should look for them at the Library. I especially like the tapes as the author reads and he's got a great narrator voice.

I should really stop listening to the garden show Tuesday morning on KUOW: I don't need the aggravation nor is it good for me to know that I know more about gardening (and especially native plants) than any of those bozos.
