Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I had a homeless couple sleeping between the bushes in the greenbelt behind me and my back fence (chain link). I was afraid they'd be there all summer, but they left after a couple of days. i think Ryker's 4 am crowing may have had something to do with it.

Hey everyone! Relatively new to backyard chickens and looking to buy some hatching eggs in the Seattle area. Right now my flock consists of an ameracaua, a black cooper marans, a silver laced Wyandotte, a mottled houdan and 2 silkies. I'm open to any breeds. Only looking for about a half dozen as my incubator only holds 7. Willing to travel, i work in auburn so I'm down in the south sound most days. Thanks everyone!
If you're not fussy about purity, I have Brabanters and Spitzhauben eggs. They're free ranging together, so there may be some mixed.

That's what we can do with our extra roosters!!!! Hire them out to deter homeless people or other unwanted guests!

Another unexpected benefit of keeping backyard chickens!

I am hoping that everything today goes perfectly well for the UPS people; I've got two run kits coming from Amazon (the same ones can be ordered from HD but they cost $30 more and there was a longer shipping time) and I need to get those chickens out of the hall bathroom!

howdy.

my family is just joining the backyard chickens craze and seem to be a little late in the year to get chicks from the local feed store.

our coop (a variation on the purina mills plan) will support about six hens and we have settled on Rhode Island Reds plus some Barred Rock.

the problem we are encountering now is that most places will only ship 15 or 25 chicks at a time. does anyone know of a place that has those breeds now? or does anyone want to split an order?

thanks.

HI All, I had been craigs listing my white midget Turkeys and a 4-H youth from Vancouver, Wa. had wanted them but we began to reason that he would be spending more in gas to come get them to make sense. ( i live north in Arlington)...Is there anyone near Vancouver, Ridgefield, Portland or within reason that may know of someone having small whites ( Midget or Belts ). I really like them but white is a baaaaad color around here....Hawks and the new Eagle population see them immediately.

I had thought that Larry Urban had some but could not find contact information for him.......

Thanks Everyone....

pettec63 bought mine from me, and sold them to Brian Decker.
Both Larry & Brian's contact info is listed in your show circulars (the ones we get at the shows that lists competitors and there cage #'s) if you did not save any from prior shows, let me know.
Send me a PM.
