Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Help?

I have not posted in a long time, but I am looking or some help. My job, which I love, is going to change where I have to start going into the office full time vs. telecommuting. My ladies have enjoyed being in the backyard full-time with me being home with them keeping an eye.

Now that I am going to be gone, I know I will not give them the time they need.

I want to find a home for them that can enjoy them. I have three EEs and one white Plymouth Rock.

Two EEs are about 18mos. and the white rock is 3 or 4 and still laying and the last EE is 4.5 yrs. All are laying, although my oldest EE is not everyday.

I have a waterer and feeder that will go with them. Everything is free to a good home.

I am located in Westend Tacoma. PM me if you are interested.

I saw a lady in Port Orchard looking for some layers. I'll see if I can find the info and put her in touch.

Thanks CarolynF, it was helpful. Looks like I will have to find valbazen somewhere

The Zimecterin GOLD is less expensive and effective. I know several people that have had good results on tape worms using it. Just be sure it's the GOLD not the regular. You can search for it here on BYC and see other conversations about it. Keep up the good work!

Hi Washington people! Do you have any recommendations on towns (rurals even better) that are good to move within an hour commuting distance of bellevue? Thanks!

Hi. I am new to chickens. So new that I don't have any yet. We are almost done with the coop and run. I want to start with girls that are almost ready to lay, rather than chicks. What is the most common way to find that age range? I would prefer to buy locally rather than from an online hatchery. Any recommendations in the Rochester area? I lean towards Orpingtons, Barred Rock, Easter Eggers, Australorp, maybe Welsummer. Just going to use for eggs and entertainment. :)

Best time to buy older stock is the fall when breeders are selling their extras. Be a lot more options. Best place to buy or make connections is at one of the fall shows.
