way back when I posted mystery chicks. Most agreed they were mutts :) The most the guy I got them from said they came from BR hen and all black roo.

As babies

now

One of those black ones is an Australorpe chick we got from a feed store.

They lay brown eggs. I know mutts but they sure do look a lot like our Australorpe.

We just got back from Coastal in Auburn. Here's my report: The chicks just came in today. They were tiny...maybe 2-3 days old. All the bins were labeled pullets. They didn't have any broilers or cornish crosses.
Breeds:
Buff Orpington
Barred Rock
Ameraucanas aka Easter Eggers
Red sex links "assorted white pullets" that looked like tetra tints to me. They had varying amounts of black on them.
Silver laced Wyandottes
Assorted pullets of different colors Some of the assorted ones looked like barred Plymouth and White Plymouth rocks
White leghorns
Some red chicks that didn't look like RIRs

Not all the tanks were labeled so there may be some breeds that I didn't list.

Thanks for the report. We would really like to add some more pullets to our flock but have not had the best luck with chicks labeled as pullets actually being pullets!

Did you get any?

Wonder if I can convince DH to drive down and get some tomorrow ... chicken math strikes again!
