Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

All this time we thought we only had two pullets laying. The darker one is being laid by one of the mutt's, we think Lola is laying the smaller light brown ones and for the other colors

You have some sneaky hens! I finally broke mine of laying everywhere. I literally followed them for an entire day. I took their eggs and put some of each in the nest boxes, tore up all of the nests in the yard, cut ferns/bushes to discourage them from making more and gave them a stern talkin to. They have been laying in their boxes since!

Around here we love to go on secret squirrel missions. I've been researching and now I'm adding you all in my mission, should you choose to accept!

Tomorrow, while DH is gone dove hunting I will execute my secret squirrel mission. This is time sensitive and is a code red secret squirrel mission (no one in the house is aware of the mission)

DH will wake me to pack a lunch for him. I was going to cook him some breakfast but he would find that suspicious!

As soon as he leaves I will recruit the girl children to build a temporary, 30 day, quarantine area for the new members. There is part of our yard that none of the current residents have been in or used. This will include a coop that will be in the garage and safe from predators. It will not be a fort knox type coop, due to lack of supplies and it being temporary and in the garage.

It is going to be an exciting day!

One of my 16 hens turned out to be a rooster (Black Sex Link), He needs a new home. Great rooster good with the hens, just wants to sow his oats and it has all the hens feeling a little stressed. Anyone interested...near snohomish.
