The only one claimed is the black one!

Mean while I accidentally filled my incubator with 17 of her last eggs for a friend who lost all but 1 of her chickens to a mink and 17 BBS Orpington eggs.... Oops! I want to swap over to just BBS orps. Of all the breeds I have I love my orp Marylyn Monroe the most. Who doesn't love marylin though? Don't tell henny penny my welsummer... She's moody and I'm sure she'd get me for sure! LOL

Friends and family have started to roll their eyes when I talk poultry so I started a blog too. My daughter even has a section of her own! She wrote a story about a duck. I helped her by adding punctuation because it was 5-6 very long sentences and helped her form her sentences lol IMO It's very cute but it is my kid lol

I wrote too much! Sorry!

A bit more on the serious side:

Did you mean Redmond Washington, or Redmond Oregon? You mentioned both states and looking for ducks now that you want 3-4 months from now won't probably help too much. A bigger problem will be zoning for all those critters you covet. Not sure if EITHER Redmond is zoned for livestock or even just waterfowl. Then, as I alluded to, is the call duck problem. They are cute and little... and LOUD. I don't just mean that they quack. They were bred to be decoy ducks for hunters. They really CAN be heard up to 4 miles away. And they LIKE to quack. A lot.

Redmond, WA. I wasn't sure where you were getting all that information from, but it must be my signature? I can't see it on my phone! It must need updated terribly; we moved to a rural area outside of Redmond last May :) But we do have neighbors. It's funny, I know Call Ducks were developed as decoys but I've never heard of them being noisy! I'll have to do more research, maybe we should stick to Pekins (which we had before). Muscovies are quieter, I know, but not my favorite.

Edit: After more research, we will definitely stick to a quieter duck! Yikes! I usually over-research everything, but I dropped the ball there. Thanks for the information! :)

take a look at Cayugas! Pretty, well.mannered, and relatively quiet. Decent layers too. And non flyers for most part.

LOL. Yeah... Dang things fully believe in the old "God makes them cute so you don't kill them" maxim, don't they? Sorry to disenchant you on them. If they ever breed a voiceless version, I will kep you company in the line to get one!!!!
