Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Up at the crack of Dawn to go pick up my shipped eggs:

This was NOT double boxed.
Several eggs were cracked, so I whipped them down with betadine, dried & patched with super glue...maybe they will survive, but I doubt ANY of them will hatch after this rough handling.

WHY does this happen ?
I ship stuff all over & get shipped things from all over and never is the boxes so much as crimped !
But not eggs.
It is like the bad guys can see the box has eggs & deliberately run over it with a forlift.

Oh, ChickieLady, that's terrible. You definitely need to contact the seller and tell them they owe you a whole other shipment.
Send them pictures and everything. You could offer to send back the package they sent you for a whole new shipment.
They owe you big time.

Haven't done much with the chicks today. We decided yesterday that the time had come to paint the whole upstairs.
When we moved here last October we painted my office downstairs and my dad's bathroom (my daughter had painted his bedroom and 2 other living areas for him before we arrived) but we decided to wait on painting the upstairs (our bedroom, living room, kitchen, & bath room). So we decided on colors and went out and bought ceiling paint.
We still have a little left to paint around the stove and frig but the kitchen is mostly done.
Now then, tomorrow, we'll start on the living/dining room. I usually cut in and my husband will use the roller now my shoulders hurt so I'm thinking a hot Epsom Salt bath is in order.

So that been my day....oh, yeah....I also went grocery shopping right in the middle of it all.
Needless to say....I'M TIRED !!!!

Welcome to all you newbies. I'm new to chickens and just bought my first ever chickens about a month ago.

Sorry... Gotta make money so I can buy chickens! Lol
It's ok. I posted it more to see if anyone was online. I was thinking about chicken plans and was hoping someone would be on to yap to but no one was on Facebook.

We moved, and lived in a tiny cabin, no room for anyone, and so tiny ya have to go outside to change your mind.
Then we built a house, also tiny, 1 bedroom downstairs, and the loft is mt art studio, and this is the last time I am giving up my art studio !!!!!!!!
It is incredible how nasty & user friendly people can be with someone elses' property !
You have to wonder who raised them to be such jerks ?
And never let them stay, or borrow, again.
You know what they say about fish & relatives ?
It is true.
The really bad part (with friends, too) is after a while you absolutely HATE these people you used to enjoy.
I just got to the point where I did not care where they went, just get OUT NOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was never surprised that 1) I was there for forever the bad guy, and

2)someone, usually another friend in the circle, takes the tossed out person within minutes, all the while telling horrors about how mean I was !
Oh yeah. I forgot to mention that the woman I moved into this house with, who moved out without warning, tried to guilt trip me into letting her, her son with anger management and destructive behavior, and her boyfriend I've never met and don't know the name of move back in here. I told the landlord and she said to bad. So I've tried to be as nice as possible in telling her no but I'm pretty sure that I'm the bad guy and ungrateful and blah blah blah. I just finished fixing all the electrical sockets that her son damaged, replacing all the smoke alarms and patching the yard he chopped up with an ax. No, I'm not sorry....I want to be sorry but I'm not. I don't know how my landlord can be so trusting of people in their rentals. I mean I know I'll take care of the place but when I have my own rentals uhm no....

That's super frustrating! I haven't gotten eggs but I have received snakes in the mail. We only go through Fed Ex because of situations like this. To many dead snakes because the post office just doesn't care. In the future if I ever buy shipped eggs or chicks, I'll pay the extra to go through Fed Ex. I hope they survive.

Hey there Washington peeps. haha! Just started raising chickens and am loving this site! Such a great tool!

I think Doyle just called us a bunch of tools.

(You couldn't guess I got my weekly performance 1:1 review for work on Wednesdays... Could you? More poor team leader. I cry for her. Not enough to actually stop throwing stuff like this back at her and make her life easier. But, hey... its a start. Right? Lol)

Seriously... WELCOME DOYLE!!!!
