Awe- looks like my Diaper Deana and Jr when they had their babies

Went out to put birds to bed and found our petite little frizzle has prolapse - it's too later to do too much, but I at least have her separated and cleaned off. Hope it will go down some to help get it squared away --- *sigh*   Poor thing just cant cut a break on things that happen to her.

She's been through a lot already in the past years and now this. I so would hate to have to cull her, since she's such a wonderful little bird. Even after all the injuries she's gone through from other birds trying to kill her, shes still just as sweet. Just have to tell thy self "if it has to be done, it has to be done" -- I'll just do what I can do and see if she gets better.  She's either 3 or 4 years old now, pushing more towards 4.

This is the first time we've had this happen to one of our birds.

Sorry to hear about your little fluff! ;(

Checked on her - it did manage to go back in most the way compared to how it looked last night- I see she did lay a egg which for her petite size is somewhat larger than normal- Hoping that's all it was and she can go back to normal, I got her all cleaned up again , later will do again-

Poor thing doesn't understand what I have to do to her, she knows it's help , but just gives me this look like " oh no not again"

Does anybody know where I can get lavender Ameraucana hatching eggs in WA? Preferably the Monroe/Bellevue area. my incubator is empty and I would love some of these gorgeous chickens, chicks work great too. :) Tia!

Tia!

Awe wish I knew - So far it seems these are a "wanted" breed among most people now?

Wish there was a way to create a pole to see what breed is most desirable to people. I know Marans and Australorps are generally. We had a Blue Copper Maran, that wound up brutal so sadly he had to be put down. Beautiful bird tho for sure. Australorps I've never had those.

We're looking at maybe getting more Russian Orloffs. Our one hen who is 4 now lays some really BIG eggs. But she could be an exception, now we have someone who has topped her eggs - they wind up big enough cant close the egg carton. I just don't know who.

wow - nice set up you have for sure - our property is in such disaray its not even funny. We moved in, in Sept. 2014...previous owner never took care of her property 5 acres worth... she needed money so had a log company come in to initially take a couple trees... but the logging company took advantage and basically clear cut leaving everything unwanted behind.. its taken until now to see the ground in some areas, or just to see the area. Sadly the whole property is loaded with mass stumps now - We're having our chicken barn built here in couple months after the permits go through and then we can get a full fence around the property done and once my set is in the barn i wont have to worry about much anymore as long as my boy doesn't leave doors open..lmao
When you are ready, give me a PM & maybe we can do something to help, if not coaching over the net.
I started slow, 1 area at a time, working farther outwards from the main coops area as I went.
