From Campbell- aunt lived in Los Gatos hills- I disliked Cali even tho I grew up there- my dad was born N.D and my mom born in Cali, but all family lives here- I was born in Aberdeen here then when I was 2 I think we moved to Campbell to take care of aunt- 2011 we finally got to move out of that hell hole up to here- I've never been happier- close all the family I never got to see and back to my roots
When we grew up in Los Gatos & the Santa Teresa area, it was pristine old growth Apricot orchards.
Lawrence expressway was NOT THERE.
The horse ranch I stabled at, is now a cloverleaf on ramp.
Remember the statues at El Gatos ?

Rode to Lexington Reservoir to swim the horses in the spillway.....................all day in the sun & riding in cut-offs....................

The greenest thing we can ever do, is limit our breeding.
Cal is out of water & looking at US to provide it !!!
NO WAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LIMIT BREEDING !!
You all might think I am cruel saying this, but God gave us a big brain for a reason.
OK, time for me to go cook dinner.

We've had Eagles hover around as well - thank goodness none of them have flown off with a bird either- maybe ours are just too fat and plump for them to even attempt it

I live between Marysville and Arlington, Our residential (and Yours) eagle has dined twice at my place and a third caught a big hen but when i saw them it tried to fly off but the hen was too heavy…torn up a bit but fine now….If i hadn't come after it would have eaten it on the spot.

I was born in Seattle, but raised in Hayward Cal, I remember all the apricot orchards too…everyone on the street had a couple in their back yards. I miss them, i just don't have the touch to have them where i live and it really is too cold….darn.

Hmm - I know when neighbor had chickens she had a eagle sittin on her fence eyeing them but she had strips of netting across top to keep them out, but they seem to not even bother ours at so far they haven't - it's a open space - but Big Red sounds his alarm and they rush back in or go to their hiding spot next to the movable coop - he's pretty good at watching out for his ladies so maybe he's the reason they haven't been nabbed - other people around here had lost theirs too

Our pride and joy - he's such a sweetheart - poor guy had to switch him to the plump girls he's just too big for the other RIR and couple of our originals - poor Meg our other RIR got traumatized when he tried to get her had to remove her.

My parents remember when everything was orchards- for sure not no more- it's even grown since we moved. They added more business along Winchester Ave and in downtown Campbell - its changed a lot since I was a kid- def not the same anymore - crime went way up even during the day houses were being broke into. School I went to son did as well, but when he went the gang fights were horrible to the point cops had to patrol the area each day- it was time to get out- his choice of high school changed even- I went to Westmont, they changed the borders and he would had to go to Del Mar which is mostly Gangs and trouble

Now we live off of Firetrail where it's somewhat quiet, no town life - which is how I like it
