Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

OverEggstended...so glad to hear that your 6 made it through the night.

I used to have periwinkle when I lived back in North Carolina and I really loved having it. I kept pulling ivy out so my periwinkle could take over.

How many of you guys are/were self employed? I keep thinking about it, selling arts, goods and what have you but I don't really know how to take the plunge >_>

I am to a point- I take care of my mothers property and what ever she needs- in return she pays for my living costs- I'm trying to get our Lil Go Peep going in hopes to one day pass it on to my kids or keep it in family regardless. I'm not able to really work anymore and my mother has a debilitating spinal disease that can go at anytime, so it works out for all of us.

This is what I do in my spare time besides chickens

I show roses! It's easier than people think. You don't have to be retired to have good roses lol. Unfortunately-give me an indoor plant and it's doomed. Weird.

I'm not self employed... but I do work from home. I telecommute.

Lovely! I am the same way with indoor plants. I had a freak rosebush back in Virginia. It was 10 ft tall and about the same from side to side. I cut it to under 3 ft in the spring and within WEEKS it was just as tall. Some genius had planted it right in front of a window. Destroyed the screen every year. Covered in baby ladybugs, preying mantis, and aphids (til the former ate them all!) I just ordered some rugosas, for the hips. And a Zepherine (?) climbing rose. I'm afraid I have neither the patience or funds for serious roses. I WOULD like to go to a show to learn about the difference in scents!

All six chicks seem healthy and happy today. Worms... they do a chickie good!

SO cute! I could watch them for HOURS.

Btw, Ideal has already refunded my card for the two that did not make it. Good company to deal with! These 6 sure seem healthy enough! We got a major cold snap last week (my plants are NOT happy, some dropped their leaves even!). The chilliness along with the shipping may have just stressed those 2 too much. Sad, but if they are not hardy... I really don't want birds I constantly need to coddle.
