How are you guys feeding garlic? Powder? Minced?

Additionally, I was thinking... I have some wormwood growing (the same variety used in Korea for baths, and for its hallucinogenic effects - my brother grew it when he was doing lots of drugs) that may be effective at worming, but I have no idea how I would go about implementing that. Best to avoid I would imagine, no?

I don't know about sending chickens on an absinthe trip, but the garlic is easy. Powder can go right into their food, any scraps from cooking, and leftovers.

How often do you worm in western washington?
I worm in early spring, before hard laying sets in, about April, and again in fall before really cold weather sets in, like right now, to eliminate birds having to carry a parasite load over icy cold months. I also work once and again in 10 days (always ) to kill egg hatched round worms not killed in the first worming.
So each time I worm (spring & fall) is 2 wormings, 10 days apart.
I do apply Eprinex in between those times IF I ever see signs of mites.

Haven't ever wormed, haven't needed to.
All birds can have worms and you'd never know it.
Worms seldom just fall out of a bird's vent for the world to see.

Birds get worms from eating earth worms, which are an intermediate host for ascarids, Round Worms, and many other worms.
A chicken can look just fine, and still have worms, so you'd never know.

Even when you do worm, with Eprinex, many worms are thus paralyzed (in the gut, and sometimes absorbed by the body) but sometimes are cast out with droppings, and surprise ! Then you may actually find worms in their poo on a poop tray in the folowing morning.

New round worm eggs can hatch in a week, so we worm again in 7-10 days (dogs, cats & chickens all need to be wormed 2X to kill the worm eggs not killed in the first worming) But remember not to give your cats Eprinex !

Fish, we worm 1x a year with Praziquantel, that kills intestinal worms, leeches gill flukes, body flukes & the like.

Each animal needs to be wormed with what is best for them, and alot of meds can be toxic to some animals, so make sure the chemical you use is appropriate for the animal/bird/fish.

I've been worming once a year with Valbazen. Wait 10 days, redose. They get Eprinex a couple times a year. I will frontline the whole lot if I start seeing lots of mites. I try not to use it to often. Don't want the insect freaks building up resistance. And that gets really expensive real fast with all the birds.
