I just love her big fluffy pantaloons.

I have a sad confession. I am new to chickens, and this spring I went totally over the top with chicks, and have just had to give away 4 beauties who had just started to lay. I plan to give away another 5 soon if the first 4 integrate well with the flock they are joining. This will leave me with 7 hens. All because I went crazy with chicks. I just don't live somewhere I can have so many. Though I kept them very cleanly, the neighbors are not appreciating their noise.

I have wanted to move to a bigger property for some time but DH doesn't want to, and doesn't share my love of animals. So my lesson learned is not to go crazy unless I have more acreage.

Feeling sad about losing those hens, but I can visit them.

I'm so sorry to hear that. Having to rehome good gals, especially, is sad. But if you can visit them and the folks getting them are good, then good vibes still exist.
