Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Almost there. Mine will be two months on the 14th.

This is my GLW that I am wondering if it's a boy. It was exactly 7 weeks at this picture. The pink in the comb is not showing much in this pic but it's been pinkish since 4 weeks old.

Does anyone here use Scratch and Peck Feed? I just got a sample yesterday and all my chicken children went nuts for it! Particularly my POL Orp. My others aren't old enough to switch over to layer but I'm definitely going to use this when they are. And for those of you in east county Whatcom do you know about Barb on Silverlake Rd.? She sells it there...save you a trip to Bham! Her price is like $1 more than another feed store I go to. $28 for a 40 lb. bag.

I've tried it and decided against it. The added nutrients and vitamins are in powder form and you'll end up with a huge pile of powder in the bottom that didn't get fed to the birds. I've found that it's not worth the cost and fermented feed is cheaper and gives better results.

Got it. I read about the powder. I was going to do a ferment with this stuff so the powder sticks to the grains and they eat it. The powder part of this feed is important, I did find out that much! I have never fermented before. (Well, I've never fermented with animal feed, I've definitely done it for myself!) How do you ferment? Do you use ACV?
