Isn't Americana made from Ara too..
I think most hybrid are just called ee

There was a conversation earlier in the thread as to what putting an Ara with an Ameracauna would create... I was told it would technically be an EE, although Ams are made from Aras. I'm confused. Dang double helix stuff.

They probably started with similar parent stock but the lines are distinct enough now to warrant separation. I would have to look into the history of the breeds and I'm feeling too under the weather right now. What I eventually want to do is to use SLW and sebrights to try a design a larger sebright looking chicken. Also a Wilkie cross is on my list to create.

But ee isn't a breed right? It's just a blue egg laying mixed hybrid. I know Americana is a breed.. but once you cross it with ee it's just a ee then?

EE'S don't lay just blue eggs, it's basically a fancy way of saying mutt chicken (usually) with a muff. They can lay blue, green, or tinted generally.

Thanks. Me too. This is the longest I've been sick ever. Over a week with a fever. Ugh I may go to urgent care, I need to be better tomorrow to attend a school thing for my husband, he got awarded a veteran's scholarship thing. I'm so proud of him.
