We seem to live between some hills or something that we don't tend to get it as bad, I myself am kinda thankful it turned out that way

I would cover at least part of the run also, but the wood pellets make it a little less messy.

My concern with the pellets... would the chickens try to eat them, which would be really bad if they absorbed all the moisture in their systems. I think my birds might just eat some to find out if they're tasty. Your experience?

My chickens have not tried eating them as far as I know. I've used them for over a year and a half. If you're worried about them eating them you can spread them out and then spray them with water and they fluff up. Then they are not in pellet form. More like sawdust.

Served him right, he had the poor girl by her comb. His wings were spread to keep his balance on her back, and the wind just tossed him.

Man the weather is nasty right now! I had to go chase down a tarp I had on my chicken shed.

OK, I don't feel sorry for him now. He will probably never bother her again. It was pretty windy here earlier also. It has calmed down now.

Never really started here mild winds but not severe, thankfully my birds love their coop in any inclement weather they stay inside.
