Well, let's see. You will have eight nesting boxes. And I have heard up to 10 chickens are even more could use only one nesting box. So 80 would probably be just fine
lots of roosts and you'll have it made.

Excellent! My husband will be thrilled!Or not!
Oh yes, I knew that was a jest! I don't think I will go over 25 chickens at any one time.I do hope you know that I was kidding!? I'm pretty sure that's not the way to figure out how many birds you can put in a chicken coop. But it sure would be nice if it was. Although I think you could have quite a few especially if they're going to be free ranging most of the time.
Hmmm. So how many chickens can I fit in a 8x17 coop? (They free range every day.)
The back side of the coop
The other side.
Right now they have two nesting boxes but my husband is building a two level set with 4 on top and 4 on the bottom.
Edited to say: We have 11 chickens right now and 7 Bielefelders that are coming in March.
I know what you mean... Feed store had speckled Sussex....had to overcome strong urge to get a few. Stocked up on supplies so I don't have to see this too often.I know what you mean! I need to go stock up on feed and bedding NOW so I don't have to walk in the feed store during "chick days"...I couldn't handle it!!!
