I need to get on here more! It took an hour of reading to catch up!

Why can't it be summer yet? Everything is all puddles and mud here by Westport.

My poor birds are confused this week. My lavender orp and some of my turkeys decided it's time to molt... I was so panicked when I saw all the feathers! I thought the local bald eagle got one of my turkeys... Nope! Just decided she needs a new outfit and is done laying eggs for a bit!

Wow the winds that just came through here had us all running on top of that torrential rains and then 6 of birds found a week spot in the run
they where out having a good time mine have all been raised since a few days old with me and like being handled now I was able to walk up and they squatted for me
and the lasdt two as another torrent started directed them to where they could see the coop and they ran for it.
puzzle now I know how much the birds roaming and foragingbut how to keep them safe with are four goofball dogs.

Some crazy windstorm here! No power in much of Kitsap, but chickens seemed undisturbed and produced 7/8 eggs! Feel fortunate no trees came down on us or around us. Too bad I spent yesterday raking up cones, branches, other winter debris.

We bought our house in November, there are like 12 rhodies overgrown all around the house starting to get a few cut back so they are more
manageable. having a big debate with myself how to rework the chicken yard. even now with shaving sitting in the run
there are large worms moving through it the birds love. I know I would like to let them forage out more just not sure how safe
that would be with our dogs.

I brought our dog into the coop to get them friendly (with hubby). She does great with the chickens now. I may disagree with her methods of bringing the chickens back to the yard, but it's effective.
