Most of my breeds are pretty good layers. I did get three Easter Eggars just for some variety and egg color. I've heard they're not the best layers but that's OK. I was going to get a leghorn, heard they are egg machines, but also heard they were pretty snotty and flighty. And that they would fly over my six-foot fence. So it's just going to be brown eggs and then whatever the Easter eggs end up with. Oh no, I just heard a rooster. I really hope it's coming from the neighbors yard. I better go check.
I liked both, and my EE was an excellent layer but they fly well and even with clipped wings she could easily "hop" to the top of the 6 ft fence. I like my Favs and silkies and I am also growing out some LF cochins in the hope that they are "content" to not "flay away"
