Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Gotta love 104 degrees. All I have been doing for the last couple of days is create breezes, change ice containers for the chickens, and spray pigs and cows. Oh and melt anytime I have to get into the car. Today I had to go to work so I had to trust my daughter to follow my 'detailed' instructions on how to keep the animals cool.
Have you tried a mister system ?
really doesn't use "TOO" much water...my FiL in NorCal who had the pheasant Farm used 4 or 5 strung together & turned them on when the temp was 100+ in late afternoon when the breeze stops
and you simply just COOK IN THE SUN>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>even the rattlesnakes go hide under his house.

But the misters seemed to work great, damp ground made for the birds to wallow in their cool damp "moonscape" holes....
He used alot of shade screen also...with the misters strung underneath.

Yep. She was bit in the side. Fish and Game had multiple reports about that bear's dangerous behavior, but it wasn't until the woman was bit letting her dog out to pee that they came out and did something. The attitude they have is, the people are the problem, not the bears. The one that was in my run yesterday, came back last night and tore apart my composter to get at the chicken poo, straw, and grass clippings. Seriously. That's all that was in the composter. Not food, in any way. And it still tore the thing apart. This bear is one step away from breaking down doors.
Seriously, I would shoot the bear in a heartbeat.
The law states "we have the right to protect ourselves and property" and to me, that means my livestock, myself, and my home.
I know if a coyote is killing your sheep, you can shoot it, and if a lion is killing your livestock, you can shoot it, so why can't you shoot a bear ?
