Regarding the depluming mites, I haven't seen a lot of preening or feather pecking so I'm not really sure if it's the issue on my girl or not. But seeing a band of skin on her neck that's nearly without feathers, just some stubs, seems very odd. Her bum has a big bare spot too below the fluff, but it's not visible unless I pick her up for an exam. Last week she layed her egg outside in the pen, and today she dropped one from the perch in the wee hours of the morning. Neither of these behaviors has ever happened with HER before. It could be a molt progressing slowly as she is 17 months old now and never had an adult molt. Fingers crossed. I don't want a hen with an oviduct issue. I hate those. Ideas?
By the way, I saw @elizmartin in your show pictures. I missed going to this one so seeing the pics was nice. Did @Hinotori make it?
