Why is Cairo the best place to go for Chinese food? No one else can wok like an Egyptian.

It's so bad it's good.

Chickies have discovered the compost bunker. It's now their second favorite spot. They've caught onto the idea of eating bugs as well, and just in time, because there seems to be an invasion of insects. Now if I could train them to chase down mosquitoes, I'd even let them inside the house.

Well asking maybe in molt they all 5 gave one today, then one of our outside kitties went up a tree
to far got stuck so here is little no see me 56 and her 69 year old best friend better half
fully extended ladder teetering he is named curly for a reason he made it to the cat
grabbed whatever lifted and started down by then Richard is shaking so hard the
ladder is swaying with just little me at the bottom so he dropped curly he did land feet
on the ground and was gone to the sanctuary of the old Shasta trailer they live in
wet and thankful me thinks... Richard by the way did make it down the ladder in one piece
also

I usually do cottage cheese 1X every few days if mine have a heavy molt...it is said saw dust (from the butcher) can be fed to your birds...it is fantastic protein & calcium (all that marrow dust in there too)

Cool beans then cottage cheese by gallons and cooked eggs
need to find a close butcher

Some of my chickens r 4 months, but there combs are bright red. Is it too early for them to quit eggs?

Chickielady - I have half an acre, fully fenced! I will post some pics later, I don't have any good ones right now. We are still moving everything. The yard is ok in the front but it is still 'jungle' in back. I have been joking that there are raptors hiding in it. Seriously, the grass is taller than my kids.

I have decided on sheep. Now we need to finish moving in, get shelter built and get on a breeder wait list.

so may I ask where you end up at? nice manageable size 1/2 we have a tiny bit more at 3/4
to keep me reigned in... Yesterday we pulled icky grey carpet up to reveal original hardwood
flooring nailed tongue and groove oak floor beautiful but needing help now

still better than icky grey

silly enough to tackle the hallway today found allot of old linoleum glue on
the hardwood

We adopted some lovely sheep from our local animal rescue (admittedly, we live in a rural area) as well as took on some sweet retired ewes from a friend's farm. I have had sheep over the years, some very nicely bred and expensive, but these have been my favorites as they seem so people oriented and easy for me to handle as I get older. Just some thoughts on other angles for finding sheep....
