I am getting so anxious to start trying the incubator and hatch a few from it..
with my coop I can have more that then 18 birds I do have so figure if
I can hatch out 6-10 eggs I might get a 50/50 split between roo and
pullet if I am lucky and most will be the green or blue eggs

I need to hatch some eggs from my 5 year old girls who are still giving me 3 a week. Need to keep those genes. And those girls are friendly

We have a similar arrangement here. Hubby does the kill, I do the rest.

I'll tell you what though, a rooster keeping me up all night will get him a fast trip into the soup pot.

Oh my housemates are great enough to let me sleep till 10 this morning
they went out took care of the chickens..
Doc has done blood work complete panel see if we can nail it down

This is why I have to do head counts. It's like that all along 40 feet of fence.

Between the molting hens, and the constant molting of juvenile birds all summer, the fencing around my run looks similar.
