The dogs chase any and all ducks and geese they see off of my mowed areas. Saying the word Goose makes them run and check.

Nice foggy morning. Went out taking landscape pictures. Then decided I needed chicken pictures as well so I grabbed my white silkie cockerel and posed him on a fence post. He knows the drill now and behaves pretty well. Other than grabbing hawthorn berries to try and eat.

So I had to research and find out if they are safe for chickens. Thankfully the answer is yes.

I just wanted to tell this group how much I've appreciated their advice, humor and information that I've received here. I have not been a steady contributor here, being a first-time chicken mama, but I have read and occasionally asked questions. I know that Mabel, Mattie, Sunny, Ruby, Scarlett, and Dottie would want to thank you, also.

I did want to tell you that come September 1, we will be relocating down to Forest Grove, Oregon. Our son-in-law is being transferred with his job and will soon be working out of the Hillsboro campus of Intel. My beautiful girls will be making the trip with us, but instead of living with my husband and I, they will go out to our daughter's new home in the country and join her 9. Our new house just does NOT have room for 6 hens and 2 dogs.

I just want to let you know how thankful I am to have found this group and allowed to be a part of it.

Misty and drizzling again here.

still just cloudy and cool I picked up the incubator from the post office yesterday
already disappointed enough to order 2362E - Electronic Thermostat Hova-Bator
for 80.00 made my credit card cry giggle

We do not have any water ponds on the property and no ducks around
and hopefully no chance of infection got the incubator today and my candling light
wow can even see into the green eggs... dry run on it now

My Brother's Scottish Terriers that way if you say the word 'squirrel'.even whisper the word 'squirrel' and they go nuts !
