Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Today is my birthday so I took it easy all day. My recovery from surgery is going well. I am up to full weight bearing but my muscles are sore and they spasm after a workout so I have to take it slowly. I have been using the bike at the gym and doing physical therapy at home so I am building strength and getting on my feet gradually. I have stabbing and feelings of electrical currents running through the top of the foot and toes but that is supposed to resolve in the next few months. I am trying to desensitize the surgical incisions but other than the strange sensations they are healing nicely.

Happy (belated) birthday! Have nice cakes?

Got first minty-green eggs out of the EE. Of course, they were laid just to the side of the nest box.

Our little d'Anvers are a lot bigger now, still really cuddly. One of them is a little cockerel that we're still figuring out what to do with. The two chicken 'groups' (new chickies vs. hens) also really don't like each other.

To understand the situation, you need to know where the meter access is. It's right on the shoulder of the road. The stretch of road in front of my property is the only section of actual shoulder for a good quarter mile. A lot of cars stop along there for various reasons, and they usually end up sitting right on top of the meter access. The meter is surrounded by concrete, but it's set so that about half the concrete 'shield' is sitting on soft soil. The pressure from numerous vehicles driving over it was enough to cause a crack in the pipe. It wasn't till the meter reader drove his truck over it, that a noticeable leak occurred. But, since the break happened on the pipe that is technically my property, we are responsible for fixing it, even if it was the city's truck that did the damage.

that stink's ours is actually behind our fence line a few feet into the yard
the guys were stepping over bending the wire to get a reading we have
offered a gate be placed there
