And now, in stark contrast to the lovely photos of @Hinotori 's beautiful birds, I present my first hard molter of the year.
Drama Queen in all her naked glory. She was completely normal this morning at feeding time. By afternoon water check, this is what she looks like.

Impressive amount of feather loss in just a few hours. Everything this girl does is dramatic and completely over the top.

Mine one would barely notice but for the lack of eggs
a few feathers around all my easter pullets are laying now
and the barred rock pullets are just the 16 month old to start again
