My two little chicks have some serious voices! LOL I can't wait to get them out and be able to love on them. They also have names. Chick #1 was named by my grandson: Skye. Chick #2 I named Topaz. Let the fun begin!

Still no sign of activity in pipping in the last 5 eggs. I am sad, but understand that it happens. I am just so grateful for the two I have. If the have DIS, Penny1960 has offered me some of her chicks from her upcoming hatch. I am also so grateful to you Penny1960! You are amazing and have been such a help to me and so patient. Thank you.

It really is amazing how when you really begin to lose faith in so many things and life throws you curve ball after curve ball, faith is restored in the most unexpected ways...

Feeling grateful...

Can always tell when rats are an issue here. The voles, shrews, and jumping mice vanish. Our voles are medium rat size but have short tails and chubby faces. And are slow enough that I can run them down and catch them by hand. I think they are Townsend voles.
xactly...fat little guys....Voles............and Volves do not venture into coops or homes for as long as I've seen..................

And it is true.....in the rodent world, if you see no mice, that is because there is rats....Rodents, as well as all animals, do away with rivals for food and shelter.
