Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

@junebuggena how many bunnies did you hatch so far & get put to freezer camp ? Just wondering how the investment is going so far....how often do you cook rabbit, what recipes do you like best ?
My does are older and the litter size is starting to reflect that. We sent 10 to the freezer in November. I only have one left. We have it about once a week, and I use it just like I would chicken. I cut 6 of them into pieces, and left 4 whole for roasting. I am raising them on pasture, so it takes longer for them to reach processing size, but it's worth it to see those little ones frolicing and mowing the yards for me.
Our favorite recipe is in the crock pot with a jar of chile verde salsa, then serve over rice. Leftovers can be used later in the week as tacos or sloppy joes. It's a denser protein than chicken, so it's more filling.

I've been mostly lucky. The ameraucana and ameraucana cross are the only ones laying. Even though most of them are 6 years old now.

See I personally never cared for rabbit used it for meat in dog foods
not overused by the large companies..
We didn't get the celtic's out of the house as she did not have chain link to keep her group out of them
BF did get her door right she now has a shopping list to get so we can finish it for
her group and the guy has osb on the floor so need it covered before anyone craps on it..
may only have 2 or 3 cockerels in her flock just now amazing odds

I'm going shopping tomorrow. :)

Got woken up this morning to some more crowing from one of my chicks. I've only heard it once before this, last week. It's sounding a little better... LOL! Sadly, I've now verified which one it is! My second hatchling, Topaz. I know hens can also crow, but I'm afraid I'll not be quite that lucky!
