Hello! I'm your neighbor over in Buckley! I measured about 3 hours ago when we got home and we had 7.5 inches. Looking at our car now, there is at least 3 more inches! (had no snow on top when we got home) People were sliding all over and there was a couple cars in the ditch. My boss already contacted me and said if we get the snow they predict, which it looks like we did, then not to come in. Snow day tomorrow!!!
Our power went out for a second but came right back on. Hopefully it will stay on through the night. Or else we will have a chilly morning!

Curious to see everyone's snow totals in the morning!

Hi All,
I'm in Enumclaw!
right now we are having a huge snow storm. We have 6 inches and it's still coming down.
Anyhoo, I am day 2 with 3 day day old chicks. They are in our house, under a light in a big tub, surounded by a puppy gate to keep the cat out.
I have always wanted chickens but finally we live in a fowl friendly area.
I'm loving how much they have grown in 2 days. Wowza!

Yay. The power here is unstable. Transformer blew across the Orting-Kapowsin Highway around 10:30. Saw the flash and heard the boom. We lucked out that our power comes up our little road behind us.

This heavy stuff is worse than the winds for breaking branches

Now up to almost six inches and the power has gone out a few times. I'm nervous about the eggs in my incubator! Hopefully they will be alright.

Woke up to 13.5 inches! Both hubby and I stayed home. Not worth driving around with all the crazy drivers out there. Chickens slept in too. They aren't happy campers in snow...

We got 14 inches in Enumclaw! I work in tacoma and that was cancelled. Kids go to school in Desmoines. That was canceled too. Snow day!
My hubby still had to go to work.
Our electricity didn't even blink. All is good for the chicks.

We have only lost power one time, We had just bought the place getting internet in
he couldn't test it cuz power went burp

has not happened again We moved here
October last this is our second year here. We are old no work no more just 21 chickens, 6 dogs, 8 cats

We got 4 inches today up in Skagit. This is our new girl Sophie, she is a seabright cochin cross!

Question, can a hen go broody before even laying eggs? We have haf her a week and today she is hording the fake eggs and not coming out of the box, she is 7 months old.
