Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I have a friend who want to eat brown eggs because she says there are little black specs in the yolk. So of course I had to go bust one open and try to stare at it and find a little black specs. Since I am blind as a bat I actually use my magnifier, still couldn't find any black specs.
She has silkies. Do silkies lay white eggs?

I don't know what she does with the eggs her chickens away. From reading other threads it looks like I have to wait till my chicks are 6 to 8 weeks old to know if they are male or female.

Leigti: These are two of my Welsummers I hatched out in November I bought an incubator and wanted to give it a try. I got a lucky grab on the eggs out of the coop as these both turned out to be pullits

I combined answers to a couple different things there. I said my friend doesn't eat brown eggs, but her chickens lay tinted eggs so I don't know what she does with them. And I want to know if my new chicks are female but it looks like I will have to wait a while to tell.
