My trash cans are by the gate where the wind is blocked by apple and hawthorn trees and blackberries. The recycle bin has a rock on it to keep the lid down. Gate is latched in open position so it doesn't swing.

All this rain is starting to affect production. The birds are not happy. I was hoping to get a duck house and pen done this month. No need for a pond at this rate. And I still need to get the trellises finished. The rain just needs to stop for more than 5 minutes.

We haul our own every other month they wanted 65.00 including recycle you did not get
a choice 2 months at the dump less than 10 miles away is 12.00 and recycle is free

yes I agree it is tougher than get out to make myself go work in the rain
James and I planted everything I had left from last year waiting on the Gurney order
then will plant it

Finally have some muddy ground opening up after all the rain it melted a good portion of the snow still more to melt but it's finally going away. I can't imagin how much rain you guys must have got on the west side of the mountains well I guess I can I'm originally from the west side 25 years ago.

Dang that wind last night was screaming around the eaves of the barn...................crazy !

I was wishfully thinking:
Maybe this storm is the END of winter......GONE and now we can get on with spring...........this morning, a full day early (as usual) 1 Ameraucana and 2 OEs are hatching.
So far the Am is blue....from black hens, dad is either an exchequer leghorn or a silver Am...I am excited about the OEs......they are from a splash and a blue hen....and likewise on the father.

Can't waite to see what color chicks we get out of the mix...hope is for Exchequer Ams......

And hope is for their legs to be blue !!!!!!! Not yellow or pink like some people who are selling "mottled Ameraucana eggs" on BYC...their birds have pink legs and are obviously nothing more than EE's.

Still getting big gusts here every so often..........................

FAHITAS for dinner from leftover london broil....................

And I am going to go out & gather my pots and potting mix & seeds and plant my tomatoes (in the barn) right now !
Then into the hot frame they go !!!

I am done with winter !!!!!!!!!!
Just IGNORE IT...surely it will go away !
