What Penny said. The broody before last was only 6 months old and she took 14 days to break rest of them have been 3 to 4 days. They will not break without the cage and the air flow as Penny said.suspend her in a wire crate let the wind blow under her skirts but would be odd they are awful young not saying she couldn't though
So now I have another broody in jail she just started last night she is one of my older birds never went broody before. This is number 4 this year must be the heat? I'm getting tired of it I keep the eggs picked up just have a bunch of want to be mothers I guessAdvice: One of my 6 mos old pullets appears to be going broody. She is an Easter Egger. Last night when I went to lock up, she was on the nest area they lay eggs at (under the roost table). This afternoon, when I went to finally collect eggs (didn't make it out in the am) she was there too. Had 4 eggs under her. Tonight, same place (no eggs as I'd grabbed the ones under her earlier). Has some bare skin areas under her. My rooster has just been with them for about a week or so. How do I break her? I certainly don't need any babies. Not even sure the eggs would be fertile if I did. Ugh.
Thank you penny I would have never figured that one out.they are conversations now you have a inbox middle button top right
