So I was working next to the big chicken run yesterday and my nasty Welsummer Roo was acting up crowing like crazy he is mean and then I here another rooster crowing kind of muffled and then I here it again it's coming from inside the coop hmm I only have one rooster. I go inside the coop and there on the perch is one of my black astralorps how can this be I have had this group for over two years out of 18 of them I have got 17 eggs a day at best could it be a rooster. There are no long neck hackles and no sadle hackles. I will put up a picture of her/ him later today. Has anyone ever herd of a hen crowing? This bird does not get touched by the rooster in any way and none of the hens ever bother it either.

I had a silkie hen that crowed

Wow, those are some cute and fancy chicks!

No idea on the gender confused australorp. Sorry about the mean welsummer rooster though. Maybe you have a good replacement now?
