Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

This boy is one of two going to a new home on the 24th. Almost kept him because he's nice quality. Good toes, good comb, no split wing, awesome foot feathering, and a good personality. Just not as dark on underneath as I'd like.

I do believe I have the one here largest black of the girls trying to
figure out how to be broody but not sure, I gave her the one egg but she let it get cold
did not go back to it either till the next day

Id set up a dummy nest with some eggs or golfballs. Sometimes just seeing that enticing nest gets the hormones going. I havent has a big broody surge yet. That should be coming next month. I have two older hens who just started sitting. They will be moved next week or so to isolation in preparation for chicks

I am waiting till I get either egg or chicks I have the ceramic eggs cleaned ready but also want to wait till I get marans

Just remember they need to set the 21 days to get into the mindset to care for chicks. The couple I have that don't have to sit as long are older hens and abnormal.

okay was waiting for a bit better weather put the girls in the tractor for the day
give me free rain to clean it out get her a nest in second room
