Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

There are only a few rats left out there. We've not been missing much on the hunts. We may have gotten the last of the adults tonight.

The steel treadle feeder works great. Pests don't even go in the large fowl pen anymore. Even the silkie rooster gets enough food. I think he steps up with one of the large fowl hens, though. The elderly EE hens are his favorite girls. He always sleeps beside or under the wing of the same hen.

Has anyone here ever used the chicken feed that Patriot Farm and Feed in Southwest Washington makes? http://patriotfarmandfeed.com

Went and looked never heard of them before a little concerned about the amount of Corn in it

This could be used as it has 16% not sure I would want a constant 20 % might work as a grower

I've never used it. I wouldn't as I've found that my ameraucana and EE need at least 20% and I'm iffy on that. I also have had bad experiences with non-pelletted/crumbled food. Silkies also do best on the higher precent.

They all get 28% gamebird mixed in with the all flock for molt as it has fish protein not the low quality soy that is industry standard.

So you do not care for their foods ? I had not heard of them been using Woodbridge farms carried by the farm store in Onalaska mine had gotten so use to Woods out of Idaho a pellet to them was awful and they quit laying

Hey Hinotori, I have family in Graham and my husband and I got married in Orting :)

We are starting with 9 chicks right now, 5 of which are silkies. I didn't know they needed that much protein. I am going to copy and post here the questions I put in the feed section about the Patriot feeds also.
