My nice Marans Rooster took a shot at the title today. It started with a rush at the waterer when I picked it up then I set it down yelled at him and he came at me, I knocked him in the head a couple of times and he backed off. I went out and got a dowel came back in he started to come towards me and I whacked him in the head (not hard) several times till he was in the corner trying to get away. Why would a year and a half old great rooster try that all of a sudden. Hope it doesn’t continue for his sake.

This is why I've been breeding for temperament in my silkies. Worst I get is someone not liking the pattern on my boots. Broly pecks the same flower every time the boots are mud free enough to see it.

The bugger he has been so nice I hope it was a passing storm, when he crows it goes right threw you very loud. I have another one that’s 5 months his crow is getting better he looks just like dad but kind of gives me the hairy eye not to sure about him. I got 8 Marans eggs today finally they are starting to lay.

It’s the fodder I’m getting 30 a day now expect 35 a day by next week. It keeps claiming that way weekly. It’s the same as the last two years that I have been giving it to them after 2 weeks of the fodder egg numbers climb.
