I have had decent luck with the straw in my larger coop, I’ll keep an eye on itBe careful straw will rot so will hay I use white shaving like 8 bucks 3 cubic feet I think they are in bales but sure looks like a nice coop
I’m in the process of moving my chickens out of my larger barn area, so I can add turkeys. What kind of larger fowl do you have?Very nice! I need something like this for my large fowl.
I have a bunch of different chickens that came with the place but I think I have decided what breeds I want to keep. Cream legbars, BCM and OE mixes. I just have to start downsizing my old flock. The new coop will hold the 13 chickens I want to keep and the big chicken barn will hold turkeys.Wheaten ameraucana and Easter eggers. Some of the EE are hatchery "americana". Some are a quarter silkie mixed with ameraucana and/or EE.
What chicken breed do you have that lays white? I used to get white eggs in the fall but I think that chicken doesn’t lay anymoreI am getting mostly blue or brown eggs again but have one getting one not quite white egg daily

im doing the same, picking soup birds. I want to get my chickens down to 14 I think. Once my pullets start laying watch out, other chickens! If it is the one think she is large a red and white bird at one time I swore it was a cockerel bought it at Cole Creek Auction with others... I have never had sickness in my birds until the 4 I bought that came home knowing the folks that run the auction, they did not know other three left soon medicated all where not getting eggs but maybe one every other day so got rid of the sneezes fast this one was healthy I let it stay see what happens. I bought 4 hatchery sex links that have started laying.. I will need to look at soup birds soon as also have speckled sussex 6 and two blue cochin growing in the connected grow out coopsorry if it rambles but hope it answers the question
